Biographies:

Anne Cooper studied Contact Improv, improvisation, contemporary and other dance with many teachers. She is a dancer/performer, improviser and teacher living on the unceded and ancestral lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. She has performed across Canada in a number of companies. For 30 years she has performed with EDAM/Peter Bingham and has taught Contact Improvisation since 2000. She has made, taught, improvised and presented her own work across Canada, the U.S. and Thailand.

Claudia Moore has been a force on the Canadian dance scene since the late 1970s as a performer, teacher, mentor and founding Artistic Director of Moonhorse Dance Theatre (MDT). Trained at the National Ballet School, she performed with the National Ballet of Canada before moving into contemporary dance with Toronto Dance Theatre and Desrosiers Dance Theatre. She founded MDT in 1996 and established its celebrated Older & Reckless series in 2000, honouring mature dance artists. A recipient of the Jacqueline Lemieux Award, Claudia now lives in Kelowna, connecting communities through Dance West Network and Dancing With Parkinson’s.

Calder White is a dance artist based on the unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations. He is an alumnus of Tkaronto’s Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre and holds a BFA in Dance from the Ohio State University. He has originated roles in works by Shay Kuebler, Joshua Beamish, Lesley Telford, Ziyian Kwan, and Rachel Meyer. His own choreography has been presented by institutions across North America, including Dancing on the Edge, Danceworks Toronto, Ottawa Dance Directive, and Santa Barbara Dance Theater. He is the proud recipient of the 2022 Hnatyshyn Foundation’s Ukraine-Heritage, Spirit, and Future award for Exceptional Talent in Contemporary Dance.

Savannah Walling, C.M., LL.D is a playwright, interdisciplinary performer, and co-founding Artistic Director of Vancouver Moving Theatre (1983–2025) and the Downtown Eastside Heart of the City Festival (2004–2024). For nearly 50 years she has lived and created on Coast Salish homelands in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, collaborating across genres and ancestries to weave local stories, live music, and living cultural practice into original productions. A Member of the Order of Canada and Honorary Doctorate recipient, she was given the Haida name hl Gat'saa — supporter of all things.

Yuha Tomita was born in Kanazawa, in Japan and studied and danced in the United States from the age of 15. She came to Vancouver in 2018 to join Arts Umbrella, following which she joined Lamondance Company. She continued with Modus Operandi and graduated in 2024. Yuha is currently a freelance artist in Vancouver working with Dance//Novella, Co. ERASGA, Inverso Productions, Cristina Bucci, Maiko Miyauchi, and Kaili Che and recently she has been teaching in various communities in Vancouver.*
